B.T. Williams: In September 1873, B.T. Williams was elected district attorney and served two consecutive two-year terms. He was elected superior court judge in 1884 and served as such for 18 years.

B.T. Williams was six feet four and a half inches tall and weighed 275 pounds. The citizens of San Buenaventura fondly referred to him as “Big Jumbo.”
