Local school children at California Coastal Horse Rescue in Ojai

This photo is special as it shows what California Coastal Horse Rescue’s Learn, Care & Share program is all about. The Rescue, as part of its commitment to Humane Education, offers the Learn, Care & Share program to local schools and groups. The goal of the program is to introduce young people to animals so that they might develop a strong sense of empathy and responsibility. This picture shows a group of kids, with CCHR volunteers, learning how to be around horses through helping to groom and take care of them. The horse pictured, Melody, loves the attention! (Melody has since been adopted by a wonderful family).
